JOLO, Sulu — The Ministry of Trade, Investments, and Tourism (MTIT) turned over here on August 2 a tourism project called ‘Support to Sulu Gateway’ in a bid to highlight and promote tourism in the province.
This initiative includes the installation of an LED TV for showcasing video teasers of Sulu and BARMM’s prime tourist destinations, tourism promotional materials, and the establishment of a Tourism Information Assistance Desk.
MTIT-Sulu Provincial Director Nagdar U. Sasapan emphasized the ministry’s ongoing commitment to supporting and developing tourism across the province.
“Hambuuk da ini ha mga projects sin MTIT-Sulu… In Sha Allah, kalu-kalu ha susungun awn pa mga project misan da kuman maniyuh-tiyuh ika-augment namuh,” said Sasapan.
[This is just one of the projects of MTIT-Sulu… In Sha Allah, hopefully in the future, we will have more projects that we can augment, even if they are just a few.]
Jolo Municipal Mayor Kherkar Tan expressed gratitude to the MTIT for granting the project to the Jolo Municipal Local Government, emphasizing the ministry’s unwavering support and initiative in promoting Sulu’s tourism.
“Bihaun namu tuud kiyananaman [in tatabangan niyu] magsukul tuud…Daran namu kamu liyalagguh…Sana bukun sadya ini,” Mayor Tan said in his message.

The Support to Sulu Gateway project, along with other MTIT tourism projects, reflects BARMM’s commitment to developing the tourism industry in the province and uplifting the lives of its people, in line with Chief Minister Ahod Ebrahim’s 12-point priority agenda. (Alline Jamar M. Undikan/BIO)
