LIGAWASAN, SPECIAL GEOGRAPHIC AREA—A total of 1,043 individuals benefited from the one-day government convergence on Thursday, June 27 in Barangay Bulol in this new municipality.
The convergence, dubbed “SGADA sa Munisipyo” organized by the Special Geographic Area Development Authority (SGADA) brought various ministries, offices, and agencies within the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim (BARMM) along with their respective services.
SGADA administrator Butch Malang said that the event is part of the initiatives of Chief Minister Ahod Ebrahim to bring government services closer to the people.
“The government of the day wanted to ensure that every constituent had access to vital government services,” Malang said.
Based on the SGADA report, more than ten agencies have joined forces to deliver vital services such as medical consultations, eye screening, medical assistance and medicine dispense, seedling distribution, worker association registration, and distribution of food packs, among others.
This year alone, SGADA has already conducted four of the same events and is expected to conduct the same activity to reach more constituents in SGA.
SGA is a BARMM territory scattered in different municipalities of Cotabato Province, established through a lawful plebiscite in 2019, carving out 63 barangays from the municipalities of Carmen, Kabacan, Pikit, Aleosan, Midsayap, and Pigcawayan. (Abdullah Matucan/BIO with reports from SGADA)
