LANAO DEL SUR— With the newly inaugurated Rural Health Units (RHUs) in the towns of Marogong and Binidayan in Lanao del Sur, residents of the area now have easier access to quality healthcare services.
Funded under the Ministry of Health’s (MOH) Marawi Rehabilitation, Recovery, and Reconstruction Program, each of the RHUs costs Php6-million, complete with equipment.
Delivery room, staff room, counseling room, doctor’s lounge, recovery room, consultation room, pharmacy/non-communicable disease room, sterilization and dietary room were among the amenities the RHUs offer.
MOH Health Facility and Development Division – Infrastructure Section Head Engr. Abdulrauf Macapeges and Lanao del Sur Integrated Provincial Health Officer Dr. Alinader Minalang led the inauguration ceremony on Wednesday, Feb. 22.
According to Macapeges, who represented MOH Minister Dr. Rizaldy Piang, the ministry and the Bangsamoro Government will continuously advance the healthcare system in the region.
“Hindi pa dito nagtatapos ang proyekto ng BARMM in terms of health facilities, marami pang darating. […] Habang nandito ang BARMM, kaagapay niyo kami sa pagbibigay ng kalidad na serbisyo sa usaping kalusugan,” Macapeges said.
On the other hand, Minalang said, “This (RHU) is one of the milestone projects, of course this is with the collaborative efforts of the Bangsamoro Government, national government, and LGUs. We are expecting that we can provide quality health services to our constituents in LDS.”
All RHUs in BARMM will also receive a monthly operational and medicines and drugs expenses worth Php50,000.00 from MOH.
Marogong Municipal Heallth Officer Dr. Nasser Alimoda, Binidayan Municipal Health Officer Dr. Mondirah Panda, Binidayan Chief of Unayan District Hospital Dr. Racquelina Benito, and barangay lcal government units, RHU personnel, and brgy. health workers were also present during the inauguration ceremony to show their support.
