COTABATO CITY — The Ministry of Human Settlements and Development (MHSD) kicked off Monday, April 4, the MHSD Week 2022 celebration with the inauguration of its new office building at the Bangsamoro Government Center here.
“We are celebrating the foundation of MHSD with the hope that the ministry can address not only the housing requirements of the Bangsamoro people but can provide direction with respect to settlements,” said MHSD Deputy Minister Atty. Jose Lorena.
With the theme “MHSD Week 2022: Disenteng Pabahay Para Sa Lahat, Pangarap Naming Lahat,” the celebration highlights the ministry’s roles and importance as the primary regional government entity responsible for the management of housing, human settlement, and rural/urban development in the region.
From April 4 to April 12, MHSD has prepared important activities such as the signing of memorandum of agreement ( MOA) with various stakeholders, oathtaking of their newly-hired and promoted staff, and presentation of MHSD’s milestones, among others.
Lorena also cited that the highlight of the week-long event would be the signing of MOA with local government units for the housing projects of the different Members of the Parliament, through their respective Transitional Development Impact Fund (TDIF).
Top brass officials of MHSD present Monday included Director-General Esmael Ebrahim, Director for Operations and Management Nomaire Madid, and Director for Technical and Regulatory Services Abdulhamid Alawi Jr..
