COTABATO CITY – Three (3) units of Multi-Purpose Drying Pavements (MPDP), with a total worth of P1.4-million, are set to be built for agriculture cooperatives in Maguindanao following a groundbreaking ceremony on March 10.
Funded by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR), each of the solar dryer is worth P496,906.64, with a total dimension of 14×30 meters with 100mm thickness. It has an individual drying capacity of 80-100 bags.
MAFAR Senior Agriculturist Engr. Muhaimin Ali said that the end goal of the project is to provide assistance to the Bangsamoro farmers, which in return will improve the agricultural production in the region.
The coop beneficiaries are the Pidsandawan Farmers Producers Cooperative in Brgy. Pidsandawan, Mamasapano; Roda Al-Maktoum Agriculture Cooperative in Brgy. Sapalan, Datu Odin Sinsuat; and Daladagan Amana Agriculture Cooperative in Brgy. Daladagan, Mangudadatu.
“Libo-libo kaming nagpapasalamat sa buong pamunuan ng MAFAR dahil matagal na naming kailangan ang solar dryer at napakalaking tulong ito sa buong mamayang ng Pidsandawan, lalong lalo na sa aming mga magsasaka,” said Anwar Gainal, Brgy. Secretary of Pidsandawan. (Kasan M. Usop, Jr./BIO)
