COTABATO CITY— In ensuring that Bangsamoro constituents will have easier access to government services, the region’s Ministry of the Interior and Local Government (MILG) is constructing nine (9) two-storey barangay halls in Patikul, Sulu, each worth P5-million.
On March 19, MILG Minister Naguib Sinarimbo, Patikul Municipal Mayor Kabir Hayudini, and 11th Infantry “Alakdan” Division Commander MGEN Ignatius Patrimonio led the groundbreaking ceremony and the signing of a memorandum of agreement for the construction of the barangay halls.
Sinarimbo said that a conducive office for the barangay officials will help them be more motivated in serving the Bangsamoro constituents.
“This is in support of the Balik Barangay Program aimed at returning all IDPs in their villages in Patikul after their long displacement because of the fight against the Abu Sayaf,”Sinarimbo said.
“In 2019, I visited this barangay to distribute relief assistance to the many IDPs encamped here. I am happy to return and provide thru the Bangsamoro Government new government centers to the barangays whose constituents are now returning. These barangay halls will be at the forefront of providing services to our people,” he added.
Also present during the ceremony were MILG Sulu Provincial Director Emini Kadiri and other municipal and barangay local officials. (Myrna Tepadan/BIO with reports from MILG)
