COTABATO CITY—Members of the Bangsamoro Budget Coordinating Committee (BBCC) expressed their commitment to fulfilling the committee’s purpose in setting the tone for the Bangsamoro’s socio-economic progress.
This came following their first meeting held on May 22, 2024, at the MFBM Conference Room, Bangsamoro Government Center in this city.
Created through Executive Order No. 0003, Series of 2023, the BBCC comprises economic managers from the Ministry of Finance, Budget and Management (MFBM), Office of the Chief Minister (OCM), Bangsamoro Planning and Development Authority (BPDA), Chairpersons of the Sectoral Committees of the Bangsamoro Economic and Development Committee (BEDC), MFBM Bangsamoro Finance Office, and MFBM Bangsamoro Treasury Office.
Ubaida C. Pacasem, MFBM Minister and BBCC Chairperson, emphasized that the BBCC is tasked with determining expenditure levels, budget priorities, and fiscal policies for the Bangsamoro Government.
“This first meeting is a momentous milestone in ensuring the processes we apply in formulating our fiscal policies align with the directives of the Chief Minister in pursuing economic self-sufficiency and genuine development,” Pacasem said.
Pacasem added that the BBCC bridges the connections between development planning, revenue and fund source determination, budget aggregates, and expenditure prioritization to ensure resources address the needs of the Bangsamoro people and contribute to the development of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region.
