GENERAL SANTOS CITY—The Development Academy of the Bangsamoro (DAB) convened diverse experts in a 3-day Knowledge Exchange Forum on Leadership Programs from April 22-25 here to formulate a framework for enhancing service delivery in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
The pilot implementation of the activity facilitated a productive round-table discussion among Bangsamoro experts from different academic institutions in the BARMM and South Cotabato, including representatives from the Office of the Wali, Bangsamoro Women Commission, and Special Geographic Area Development Authority (SGADA).
After the 3-day successive sharing sessions, the pool of experts finalized the formulation of the Leadership and Development program design framework that will bolster and establish innovative interventions for the improvement of the delivery of vital services, in line with the principles of moral governance.
DAB Executive Director Hisham Nando said that the activity holds paramount importance in addressing the critical need for empowering leaders within our communities.
“BARMM faces numerous socio-economic challenges that demand effective leadership and innovative solutions. Therefore, this forum serves as a vital platform to enhance the leadership and knowledge management skills of our future Bangsamoro leaders, paving the way for growth and development in our region”, he said.
The activity serves as one of the gateways of the regional government to craft inclusive and sustainable concrete efforts that fill the gap both in leadership and management, which could be beneficial to the public, whether within the core territory or outside Bangsamoro communities.
According to Qysr Macasayon, Chief of DAB’s Center of Knowledge Management, this initiative will help ministries, offices, and agencies develop and design programs and projects based on the guidelines documented in the L&D Programs Framework developed by the Bangsamoro pool of experts.
“The intensive plenary sessions held during the forum are the manifestation of our dedication to giving back to the communities utilizing the skills of the distinguished experts from the academe sector”, he expressed.
Dr. Saidamin Bagolong from Cotabato State University, one of the experts who actively participated in the knowledge-sharing forum, commended the CKM for providing a venue to address identified pressing concerns highlighted during the plenary sessions.
“We gathered here to help our people especially those who live in far flung areas and establish collaboration with each other,” he said.
The Leadership Development Programs design framework serves as clear documents containing access pathways and mechanisms crafted thoroughly to determine which plan of action should be at the forefront to ensure that the sentiments of the communities are answered accordingly by the government.
DAB’s Center of Knowledge Management, together with the first set of experts, pledged to continuously work harmoniously to realize all the plans incorporated into the Leadership Development Programs design framework to ensure more excellent service delivery to the Bangsamoro people.
