MARAWI CITY — In celebration of the 65th Araw ng Lanao del Sur, the Bangsamoro Government’s provincial offices participated in the Government Services Exhibit organized by the Provincial Government of Lanao del Sur from July 15-19, 2024 at the Provincial Capitol Complex in this city.
Throughout the exhibit, residents had the opportunity to access a diverse range of services provided by various government ministries, offices, and agencies.
The Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) offered services for scholarship application and consultations, while the Ministry of Labor and Employment (MOLE) facilitated career counseling and registration of private associations.
Ministry of Health’s (MOH) Integrated Provincial Health Office and Lanao del Sur’s Provincial Health Office also provided comprehensive medical, dental, and optical services. They also conducted Operation Tuli (circumcision) and distributed free medicines to those who availed of the health consultation.
Other offices of BARMM which participated in the activity included the Ministry of Trade, Investments and Tourism (MTIT), Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR), Ministry of Transportation and Communication – Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (MOTC-LTFRB), Office of the Chief Minister’s Cooperative and Social Enterprise Authority (CSEA), and Bangsamoro Human Rights Commission (BHRC).
Legal services were available as well, encompassing notarial services, the drafting of simple non-commercial documents, and legal consultations, addressing a range of community needs.
To boost the local economy, a food bazaar was also organized alongside the exhibit to showcase the emerging businesses and local cuisine of the Meranaws.
“This event is not just about enjoying delicious food and showcasing local products. It’s also about bringing essential government services directly to you,” said Vice Governor Mohammad Khalid Adiong during the opening ceremony.
“Participating agencies are here to assist with a wide range of services including registration, consultation, filing/releasing of application forms, issuance of permits, updating of records, opening of bank accounts, and more services,” he added.
Over the 5-day event, thousands of residents from across Lanao del Sur benefited from the array of services provided both by the Bangsamoro Government and the Provincial Government of Lanao del Sur. (Norjana Malawi/BIO)
