COTABATO CITY—Bangsamoro Government is set to gather foreign dignitaries and business entities thru the 1st Bangsamoro Business Congress (BBC) next week, Jan. 17 to 19, at Cotabato State University (CotSu) in this city.
As a preparation, the Ministry of Trade Investment and Tourism (MTIT) held a pre-summit activity here Wednesday, Jan. 11.
MTIT Minister Abu Amri Taddik said this is a preparatory activity for the local entrepreneurs for them to be ‘socially prepared’ in inventing into networking and innovation in business, commerce, marketing, trade, and industry.
According to the Minister, the upcoming business congress will open an avenue for “taking advantage of strong national and international relations, particularly the ASEAN countries.”
“This event is targeting the success of the 1st Bangsamoro Business Congress to strengthen and promote industry, and infrastructure and enhance economic productivity that will contribute to the region’s economic growth,” Minister Taddik said.
BARMM Business Council Chairman Atty. Ronald Torres shared that around 250 delegates from across the BARMM region will join the event including those invited from the provinces of Sultan Kudarat, Koronadal, General Santos, and Iligan City, among others.
“Aside from local delegates, we also have confirmed delegates coming from different embassies and foreign chambers of commerce. Various topics are to be discussed and we will have business matching to do as well,” Torres said.
BBC is a region-wide council that serves as the primary voice and representative of the business sector in BARMM. The council also provides innovative, excellent services, and advocacy in attaining a globally competitive and dynamic economy. (Majid Nur/BIO)
