COTABATO CITY—Bangsamoro region’s Ministry of Indigenous Peoples’ Affairs (MIPA) conducted on June 8 a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of four (4) Special Development Fund (SDF) projects for the IPs at Barangay Kabinge in Datu Saudi Ampatuan, Maguindanao.
All amounting to a total of P49.7-million, the projects include a one-storey tribal hall (P7.2-M), public market (P9-M), warehouse and solar dryer (P1.5-M), and 50 units core shelter with solar powered light and water system level II (P32-M).
Indigenous communities affected by conflict in the municipality are among the beneficiaries of the projects.
Present during the groundbreaking ceremony were Municipal Vice Mayor Datu Bassir Utto, Councilor Datu Henry Dimaukom, Battalion Commander of 40 Infantry Battalion LTC Edwin Alburo, and contractors such as Schaminco, Curveline, and MBE Construction. (Myrna Tepadan/BIO)
