COTABATO CITY—Farmer residents and commuters in the town of Sultan Dumalondong, Lanao del Sur province will soon benefit from the Bangsamoro Government’s two-road projects following a groundbreaking ceremony held Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2022.
The Ministry of Public Works (MPW), through the 2nd Engineering District of Lanao del Sur, implemented the said project, in partnership with the local government unit of Sultan Dumalondong municipality.
District Engineer Maldamin Decampong said the two-road projects are funded under the Bangsamoro Appropriation Act of 2022 with a total amount of Php56,800,000.00.
Of the number, Php28,400,000.00 was earmarked for the 1.5km Lumbac-Banday, Pagalongan road Phase-2 and the other Php28,400,000.00 is for the concreting of 1.5km Bacayawan-Pagalongan-Lake Butig road.
“These several infra projects are more than a gift to us but a legacy of our Bangsamoro Government that could not be forgotten in the hearts and minds of our people forever,” Mayor Jamel Kurangking said.
The Municipality of Sultan Dumalondong also received road concreting projects from the BARMM for the Bacayawan-Pagalongan-Dinganun 1.5Km road worth Php27-Million and Dinganun to Sumalindo-Malalis 2Km road worth Php36-Million, which will connect several barangays within the municipality and will be beneficial for the far-flung farmers.
Moreover, the construction of a municipal hall worth Php30-million for the said town is underway, funded by the Ministry of the Interior and Local Government (MILG). (Kasan Usop, Jr./BIO)
