COTABATO CITY – The Bangsamoro Government, through the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) has started on Monday, July 24, the relief aid distribution for the families affected by flooding due to heavy rains in Maguindanao del Sur province.
A total of 700 families from the barangays of Reina Regente and Kalipapa in Datu Piang Municipality were the first to receive the assistance which consisted of 25-kilo sack of rice, a dozen of canned goods, sachets of instant coffee.
“We are thankful for all the help that we received from MSSD-BARMM”, said flood victim Umisalam Sahid Diong.
The relief distribution will continue until July 27 for the other flood-affected families in the barangays of Balong, Montay, Ambado, and Duaminanga.
According to MSSD’s provincial office in Maguindanao, a total of 1,905 households from Datu Piang town will be given the relief aid.
Other flood victims in the province are also scheduled to receive similar relief assistance in the next following days. (Myrna Tepadan/BIO with reports from MSSD)
