COTABATO CITY—To steer and support operational readiness and disaster preparedness in the region, the Bangsamoro Government through the Ministry of the Interior and Local Government (MILG) handed over a newly equipped fire truck to the Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO-BAR) on Tuesday, March 14 held at the Bangsamoro Government Center in this city.
MILG Minister Atty. Naguib Sinarimbo and Deputy Minister Abunawas Maslamama led the turnover ceremony of the fire truck which was received by PRO-BAR Regional Director PBGen John Guyguyon.
Guyguyon affirmed their strong commitment and sustained action for the prosperous life of the Bangsamoro people, saying: “The PNP is looking forward to a stronger partnership with the Bangsamoro Government through the MILG in maintaining peace and security in the region.”
On top of this, MILG also provided additional office supplies to the PRO-BAR’s Human Rights Affairs and Regional Legal Office to strengthen our police force in achieving a peaceful environment across the region.
Apart from the provision of fire trucks, the Bangsamoro Government also facilitates the construction of police stations and headquarters and various capacity-building activities for men and women in uniform spearheaded by the MILG’s Interior Affairs Services.
Also, the BARMM government turned over a total of eleven (11) Police Patrol Cars to the PRO BAR’s respective Municipal and City Police Stations in their law enforcement operations and in combating criminalities.
Sinarimbo underscored that the Ministry, in partnership with other concerned stakeholders, will work closely with the PNP to strengthen its approach in expanding the Tulong ng Gobyernong Nagmamalasakit (TuGoN) project to counter extremist narratives, among others.
The program was implemented to support and strengthen law enforcement, which aims to empower and make them more effective partners towards long-lasting peace and sustainable development in the Bangsamoro Region. (Johaira Sahidala/BIO with reports from MILG)
