COTABATO CITY—The Bangsamoro Economic and Development Council (BEDC) organized an orientation on the issuance of required papers for the Fiscal Year (FY) 2024 budget proposal of the BARMM ministries, offices, and agencies (MOAs).
The activity, held on April 5, 2023, focused on the importance of securing certification and endorsement for proposed programs, activities, and projects (PAPs), particularly infrastructure proposals.
The event highlighted the need for the alignment of PAPs to the 2nd BDP through the issuance of a certification by the Bangsamoro Planning and Development Authority (BPDA) and the endorsement of infrastructure PAPs by the BEDC.
BARMM Director-General Engr. Mohajirin Ali emphasized the importance of adhering to schedules and guidelines provided by the Ministry of Finance and Budget and Management (MFBM) to ensure timely completion, review, and certification of the FY 2024 budget proposal.
“Altogether, we will work on and hopefully agreed with the timetable of activities for the timely completion, review, and certification of FY 2024, as well as the endorsement of proposed infrastructures by the BEDC to the MFBM,” Ali stressed.
The orientation included a discussion of guidelines on the review and evaluation of proposed PAPs for FY 2024 and an overview of the activity.
The BPDA also encouraged planning officers from MOAs to raise queries and clarifications regarding the issuance of certificates and endorsement of infrastructure PAPs for the 2024 budget proposal.
The event aimed to ensure mutual understanding and adherence to guidelines to enhance the efficiency of the budget proposal process. (Kasan Usop, Jr./BIO with reports from BPDA)
