COTABATO CITY—The Bangsamoro Government has taken action in response to allegations of a teacher’s plantilla item being offered for sale at a rate of P300,000.
Education Minister Mohagher Iqbal has announced the formation of a special committee to thoroughly investigate these claims.
“To address this issue, MBHTE has created a special committee to look into these allegations and ferret out the truth inside and outside the office. It is prohibited in Islamic teaching this kind of issue,” stated Iqbal.
He emphasized the Government of the Day’s commitment to dealing with any official, personnel, or school division staff found to be involved in unlawful activities related to this issue.
Iqbal stressed stringent measures will be taken against those implicated.
Furthermore, Iqbal urged individuals with complaints to provide concrete and reliable evidence for a proper and legal investigation process, discouraging the use of social media for such matters.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Basic, Higher, and Technical Education (MBHTE) employed 968 teaching and non-teaching personnel across Lanao del Sur (LDS) I and II, Sulu school divisions, including 16 individuals from the regional staff.
On Oct. 2, MBHTE led the administration of oaths at the Cotabato State University’s gymnasium in this city.
Iqbal said the appointments made were devoid of bias following stringent and transparent recruitment processes.
“The Bangsamoro’s education ministry is very competitive in hiring its teaching personnel. It goes to rigorous processes including applicant’s educational background, eligibility, work experiences as well as their training,” said Iqbal in a video message.
“The MBHTE leadership is not tolerating biases and those prohibited in Islamic teaching. We always consider transparency with the guidance of Moral Governance,” he added.
The newly appointed personnel consist of 284 elementary and secondary teachers assigned to LDS I; 177 elementary and secondary teachers alongside eight PARA teachers for LDS II; 409 elementary and secondary teachers; and 71 school principals designated for Sulu; with an additional 19 regional personnel.
Iqbal expressed his congratulations to all the appointees who are now officially part of the education ministry and dedicated to serving the Bangsamoro children.
“We’re asking you to give your utmost best in the field of teaching despite the diversity or individual uniqueness of learners,” he said.
This continued recruitment drive for teaching and non-teaching staff aligns with BARMM Chief Minister Ahod Balawag Ebrahim’s Expanded 12-Priority Agenda, aimed at providing quality and holistic education by investing in human resource development. (Johaira Sahidala/BIO)
