COTABATO CITY—In a significant partnership, the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) joined forces with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR) of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) for their Project Preparation Facility (PPF) Mission, marking a pivotal step towards regional development.
The PPF serves as a mechanism that will enable the BARMM and local governments to secure funding for large-scale infrastructure projects through innovative Public-Private Partnerships.
The UNOPS mission team comprised of Mr. Oscar Marenco, Philippines Country Manager, Senior Advisor Mario Maza, Legal Specialist Ignacio Aragone Rivoir, Senior Advisor and Infrastructure Finance Jose Enrique Perez Fiano, SUBATRA Project Manager Criselle Capistrano, SUBATRA Construction Management Engineer Radzmier Hasan, and Legal Advisor Atty. Catherine Gonzales.
MAFAR Minister Mohammad Yacob expressed his admiration and gratitude for the visit of the UNOPS mission team, highlighting their shared goal of pursuing projects that will enhance the well-being of the Bangsamoro people.
“The ministry highly appreciates your visitation and presents the importance of UNOPS in helping to build better lives for the Bangsamoro people,” Yacob stated.
