COTABATO CITY—To improve the emergency response capabilities of local government units (LGUs), the Bangsamoro Government has initiated the building of a new fire station in Pura village, Datu Blah Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte.
The groundbreaking ceremony for the project worth Php7-million took place on Thursday, April 13, 2023.
BARMM’s Ministry of the Interior and Local Government (MILG) Minister Atty. Naguib Sinarimbo and the newly-appointed OIC Maguindanao del Norte Governor Abdulraof Macacua attended said activity.
During the event, Sinarimbo emphasized that the Bangsamoro Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Ahod Ebrahim, is committed to providing more services to its constituents.
“With the appointment of Gov. Macacua, we can hope that there will be more national funding for our projects,” he said.
“Our only request is that you improve the services of your constituents. We don’t care about politics, we still have a long time to do good and let’s just do everything we can to make the Bangsamoro government’s promise happen which is to serve,” Sinarimbo added.
In response, Governor Macacua expressed his dedication to serving the people of Maguindanao del Norte and stated his goal to make the province one of the most dynamic provinces in BARMM.
He also shared that he sought the commitment of the national government to improve the lives of the people in the region before accepting the governorship.
“The national government commits that they will [really] help Maguindanao del Norte because that was one of the conditions I sought – that I would only accept the governorship if they would help me improve the lives of the people of Maguindanao del Norte,” said Macacua.
Several officials also attended the event, including MENRE Minister Akmad Bahim, former Representative Bai Sandra Sema, and several mayors from various municipalities in Maguindanao del Norte. (Majid Nur/BIO)
