COTABATO CITY— To foster dialogue and popularize its development goals to the academe sector, the Bangsamoro Government, through its development agency, kicked off its information campaign Wednesday, May 29, at the Cotabato State University (CSU) in this city.
At least 100 students and faculty of CSU attended the first league of the regionwide campus tour organized by the Bangsamoro Planning and Development Authority (BPDA) which primarily aims to communicate the 2nd Bangsamoro Development Plan (BDP) 2023-2028.
During the forum, participants were engaged in a meaningful dialogue through an open forum where key issues related to the BDP were addressed.
BPDA Director Melanie Indar encouraged the students to actively participate in cascading proper information within their sphere of influence.
“We urged you to please cascade to classmates, family, and friends that the regional government has a concrete plan for the BARMM constituents,” Indar said.
Launched in April last year, BARMM’s second BDP serves as a guidepost that underscores the development thrusts, priorities, and strategic directions of the Bangsamoro Government for the years 2023 to 2028. The development plan was carefully crafted to sustain the gains achieved by the BARMM government from 2020 to 2023 as outlined in the first BDP.
Twenty-three-year-old student regent Abdulbashit Samad, the current President of CSU Student Council, shared in an exclusive interview that he is grateful that BARMM can provide them with a platform to participate in government affairs.
“Student participation which is very important as the young people would be the next generation to fill the roles of our present leaders,” Samad said.
The campus tour will be around selected academic institutions in the BARMM as they aim to reach a larger audience. (Abdullah Matucan/BIO)
