COTABATO CITY—Bangsamoro Government’s Kapayapaan sa Pamayanan (KAPYANAN) conducted a ceremonial groundbreaking of 350-unit core shelters worth of Php231-million on Monday, Feb. 14, at Kadingilan, Midsayap, Special Geographic Area (SGA).
Accordingly, KAPYANAN has approved the construction of 350-unit of core shelters, with solar-powered light, water system component, solar street lights, and linear canal system for 350 families which will soon arise in seven (7) barangays in Midsayap.
Deputy Project-Manager Engr. Abdulnasser K. Usman said, “this is the first time of KAPYANAN to implement housing project in Midsayap and in SGA.”
One of the beneficiaries, Peng Lakiman, 59, a resident of Barangay Kadingilan said, “we are happy because our place has been affected by war in the past and now we are receiving housing, which is first of its kind. With that, we are thankful to the BARMM government.”
Meanwhile, the proponent and concurrent barangay chairman, Saiden A. Alim, said, “this area was a battle zone, the housing projects have great impact to the beneficiaries, especially to the poor residents, somehow they will soon to have decent houses.”
“50 units of core shelters are allotted to Barangay Kadingilan, for 50 families, and each unit costs roughly 600,000.00 pesos.” Alim added.
KAPYANAN is a special program of Chief Minister Ahod B. Ebrahim aimed to provide decent housing to the poor Bangsamoro communities. (Majid Nur/BIO)
