COTABATO CITY—As part of Bangsamoro Government’s commitment to improving the infrastructure in the region, the Ministry of the Interior and Local Government (MILG) is set to build a Php7-million worth of fire station and four units of 2-storey town halls in Pagalungan, Maguindanao del Sur.
The MILG broke ground on March 28, 2023 for the construction of the said infrastructure projects.
The construction of the Barangay all project is part of the Office of the Chief Minister’s Support to Local Moral Governance (SLMG), which aims to fund infrastructure projects such as the construction of town halls.
On the other hand, the budget for the Php7-million fire station comes from the Bangsamoro Appropriation Act of 2022, which is carried out by MILG’s Project Management Development Division (PMDD).
The fire station will provide much-needed fire protection to the residents of Pagalungan and the surrounding areas. At the same time, the town halls will serve as a venue for community events and meetings, creating a vibrant hub of activity for the town’s residents.
MILG Minister Atty. Naguib Sinarimbo expressed his gratitude to Pagalungan Mayor Salik Mamasabulod and all the local officials for their unwavering support for the BARMM under the leadership of BARMM Chief Minister Ahod Ebrahim.
“This project is a testament to what can be achieved when local officials work together with the regional government to bring development to their communities,” said Sinarimbo.
Mayor Mamasabulod and Vice Mayor Datu Abdilah Mamasabulod also expressed their gratitude for the outpouring of projects that the town of Pagalungan has received from the Bangsamoro Government. (Majid Nur./BIO with reports from MILG)
