GENERAL SANTOS CITY — The Development Academy of Bangsamoro (DAB) is crafting a leadership and management short course integrating moral governance, finalized during a curriculum design writeshop held from Nov. 22–24 at East Asia Royal Hotel in this city.
DAB OIC-Executive Director Abdul Qysr Macasayon emphasized the importance of the short-term course training specialized on Moral Governance and Ethical standards, integrated with Peace, History, Leadership, and Management.
“This short-term course is designed to equip BARMM employees with the tools to foster a just, accountable, and transparent government. We can craft a leadership and management course that integrates moral Governance and serves as a transformative tool for BARMM civil servants,” he said.
“We are working to create a civil service commission-accredited program that provides practical solutions tailored to the unique challenges of BARMM,” he stressed.
DAB Chief Education Program Specialist Noraida Datumanong highlighted the target beneficiaries and the structure of the program.
“This is the first leadership and management short-term course crafted by DAB for BARMM employees. It will be offered in four categories: 1. Executives top leaders, 2. Middle managers, 3. Provincial heads, and 4. Technical and non-supervisory personnel,” she explained.
Datumanong elaborated on the behavioral focus of the course, integrating moral governance’s 10 elements: piety, rule of law, justice, moral and ethical values, consultation, trust, striving for excellence, balance and sustainable development, accountability, and transparency.
Datumanong further emphasized that the program, automatically accredited by the Civil Service Commission (CSC), will help leaders and managers meet CSC requirements without excessive costs.
“DAB’s training will enable middle managers and top leaders to comply with CSC standards without wasting time and money on external programs,” she said.
The short course will be rolled out in phases, using a blended approach that includes face-to-face sessions, online modules, and self-paced materials to maximize its impact. (Majid Nur/BIO)
