COTABATO CITY—The Regional Project Coordination Office of Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (RPCO-BARMM) broke ground on Nov. 15 and 16, for the construction of goat house facilities in four towns of Maguindanao del Sur.
The ceremony marks the preliminary steps for constructing the Goat Multiplication, Fattening, and Marketing Sub-Project on Goat House Facilities in the municipalities of Guindulungan, Ampatuan, Datu Paglas, and General SK Pendatun.
Engr. Baby Anne Usman, rural infrastructure engineer of RPCO-BARMM, said that each facility, amounting to P1,200,000.00, funded by the World Bank with a European Union Grant, is expected to be completed within a 120 working days time frame.
Guindulungan Mayor Midpantao Midtimbang Jr. expressed gratitude to MAFAR-PRDP for granting such a big project to the cooperatives in their area.
“Alhamdulillah (Praise be to Allah) for this project, which comes complete with a goat house facility, training, and marketing assistance. For the beneficiaries, we anticipate ensuring proper care to guarantee the success of the project,” Midtimbang said.
He also pledged to closely monitor and offer support to ensure the effective implementation of the project.
Representatives from provincial and municipal engineering offices, the Municipal Planning and Development Coordinators (MPDC), MLGUs, barangay officials from the said municipalities, the RPCO-BARMM team, MAFAR-Maguindanao PRDP Focal, and MAFAR Municipal Officers were present at the groundbreaking ceremony.
The said project initiative falls within the 4th of the 12-Point Priority Agenda, aimed at enhancing socio-economic development, reducing poverty, and bolstering regional food security through agri-fishery sector improvements. (Kasan Usop, Jr./BIO with reports from MAFAR)
