SULTAN KUDARAT, Maguindanao del Norte—The Bangsamoro Government through the Ministry of Human Settlements and Development (MHSD) and Office of the Member of the Parliament (MP) Abdullah Gayak unveiled a newly constructed training center in this town on Monday, Oct. 7.
The two-storey P15.5 million state-of-the-art facility features a 600-square-meter floor area, providing enough space for its function rooms, comfort rooms, and other facilities from the ground floor to its second floor.
MHSD Director General Ebrahim said this project is the top priority of the members of the Bangsamoro Government. He added that MHSD is grateful to BTA for entrusting the implementation.
“Nya na isa sa agenda nu BG labi den su government of the day sa panun e kapendevelop kanu mga taw ka nyaba e success o gobyerno tanu,” Ebrahim said in a Maguindanaon vernacular.
[Developing its people is among the agenda of the Bangsamoro Government; this accounts for the success of our government.]
Ustadz Habib Usman, who delivered the message of MP Gayak emphasized the essence of the project, which will serve and capacitate the asatidz in more than 1,000 traditional madrasahs throughout Mindanao.
“Langon langon a ukit a egkapulo su standard o education nu Bangsamoro sya sa madrasah na nyaba e ipenggulalan tanu,” said Usman in vernacular.
[We will apply all methods that can uplift the standard of Bangsamoro education in our madrasahs.]
Azatidz and Madrasah are both Arabic terms. As explained in the Bangsamoro Education Code, the former is simply translated as teachers, while the latter refers to a school operationally defined as an educational institution that is community-based and operated privately, whereby the medium of instruction is the Arabic language with Islamic studies and Arabic literacy as the core emphasis.
Aside from the traditional madarash, the Committee on Tarbiyyah or Education of Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), chaired by MP Gayak, with members inside and outside the Bangsamoro region, will also benefit from the project.
Gayak, being a leader in the MILF and a member of the 80-seat parliament, is a strong advocate to elevate the standard of the madrasah’s curriculum or the education for the Bangsamoro.
Vice President for Planning and Research of Tarbiyyah Committee, Dr. Nasrudin Yusof explained that the Tarbiyyah Committee is composed of 43 provinces, emphasizing a large number of Bangsamoro that would benefit from the project.
“We are very happy that we have been given a building here,” Yusof said, further explaining that part of their responsibilities is how to maintain the beauty of the structure.
“Tatawagin namin itong Tarbiyyah Training Center para makabenipisyo ang lahat ng miyembro and we will use it to develop ourselves,” he added.
[We will name it Tarbiyyah Training Center ensuring that all members can benefit and will use it to develop ourselves.]
He also lauded the BARMM government for taking the initiatives and efforts.
