JOLO, Sulu — With the region’s commitment to advancing the well-being and health outcomes of the Bangsamoro people, the Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO) Sulu recently conducted a comprehensive three-day hiring activity from June 26 to 28 aimed at filling essential plantilla or regular positions at the IPHO-Sulu Provincial Hospital.
During the recruitment process, aspiring candidates underwent a rigorous assessment, which included a written examination and post-exam interview sessions to evaluate their qualifications thoroughly.
The recruitment drive garnered a substantial number of applicants, with over 700 individuals applying through the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) job portal and walk-in registrations, accommodating applicants from remote areas with limited internet access.
With 114 positions awaiting qualified professionals, the recruitment primarily targets roles such as doctors, nurses, ancillary staff, and administrative positions within the IPHO-Sulu Provincial Hospital. These selected professionals will be exclusively stationed at the provincial hospital, while opportunities in other healthcare facilities across Sulu will also become available.
Notably, IPHO-Sulu Human Resource Management Officer Nasserhu Lim underscored their commitment to merit-based selection, emphasizing a fair and impartial selection process by refraining from accepting endorsements from influential individuals to ensure equal opportunity for all applicants.
“Di tuud kami mag-accept magbacker, di kami magtayma endorsement from influential people pasal madeprive in kaibanan amuin wayruun backer. Makaulung isab, subay equal, sibuh-sibuh sila nag-exam, sibuh-sibuh nag-undergo interview pag-ubus in the end magbacker na lang?”Lim said during an interview.
[We do not accept backers; we do not entertain endorsements from influential people because it will deprive other applicants who have no backer. It’s a matter of equity. Everyone underwent the same examination and interview process, and, in the end, we’ll just base it on backer?]
The results of the recruitment will undergo a comprehensive evaluation by IPHO-Sulu and subsequent deliberation by the Ministry of Health to guarantee a transparent and equitable selection process for all candidates, aligning with BARMM’s commitment to establishing a moral government.
