COTABATO CITY–On its commitment to address the perennial problem of classroom shortages, BARMM’s Ministry of Basic Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE) officially opened the first-ever newly constructed Bangsamoro Stand Alone Senior High School on August 18, at Brgy. Datu Balabaran, Tamontaka Mother in this city.
The six (6) four-storey buildings with a total of 120 classrooms is expected to accommodate more than five thousand senior high school students.
BARMM’s Education Minister Mohagher Iqbal stressed that maintaining the integrity and longevity of the newly-opened school is a shared responsibility of all members of the Bangsamoro educational community.
“This new structure stands not only as a testament to our commitment to education but also as a symbol of progress and growth. [Also] it is a testament of Moral Governance – Transparency, and the visible efforts of MBHTE. As educators, it is our duty to provide an environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and collaboration among learners,” Minister Iqbal said.
He said BARMM’s education ministry continues to build structures that are ideal for teachers and students’ learning environment.
“As we step into this new chapter, let us remember that this building is more than just bricks-and-mortars. It is a place where futures will be shaped, dreams will be nurtured, and countless memories will be made,” Iqbal added.
As part of education stakeholders, Principal Jeanette Abas Gaudiano acknowledged the Bangsamoro Government’s aid for its continuous support and various projects for improvement of the BARMM’s education sector.
“Simula po noong nagka-BARMM, ang mga kabataan natin ay very positive sa pag-aaral. Ang mga tulong mula sa MBHTE ay very positive din dahil lahat ng request natin sa kanila na ay agad na tinutugunan upang makatulong sa development ng mga bata,” Gaudiano said.
She added that the newly built school building will be beneficial to Bangsamoro students, expressing her hope for the community’s wonderful and promising future. “
Talagang nakikita natin sa mga mata nila [students] na may pag-asa sila to achieve their goal with the BARMM Government and MBHTE,” Gaudiano added.
The remarkable school infrastructure project is in line with BARMM Chief Minister Ahod Ebrahim’s Expanded 12-Point Priority Agenda, which aims to improve access to quality and holistic education through the strengthening of education system by investing in human resource development and advancing science technology, and innovation.
