COTABATO CITY —The Bangsamoro Government, through MP Diamila-Disimban Ramos and the Ministry of Public Works, turned over a newly built multi-purpose learning center to Cotabato State University (CotSU) on August 20, designed to support both academic and community initiatives.
Funded under the 2022 Transitional Development Impact Fund (TDIF), the center will host school activities and community programs to enhance the quality of life for the Bangsamoro people.
MP Ramos highlighted the project’s role in promoting an inclusive approach, extending government services to the city’s residents and neighboring municipalities.
“The project aims to strengthen and expand further the initiatives of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) Parliament and reach the communities, which are rarely extended with the regular programs of the Bangsamoro Government,” MP Ramos said.
She added that the center will facilitate collaboration between academia, communities, and the regional government, focusing on Halal industry development, social enterprises, education, culture, and empowering vulnerable sectors like women and youth.
Teng Alim, CotSU Vice President for Research Extension Development and Resource Generation, emphasized that the facility would support both classroom instruction and the University’s extension programs for community knowledge transfer.
“This center is near the College of Agriculture building, where we bring here farmers, youth, women, and other sectors to introduce state-of-the-art technologies beneficial to production,” Alim said, hoping for continued collaboration with the regional government.
Developing resilient infrastructure to spur economic growth and improving access to quality education through skills training are key priorities for Bangsamoro Chief Minister Ahod Ebrahim. (Johamin Inok/BIO)
