TAWI-TAWI—Bangsamoro Government’s Project Tulong Alay sa Bangsamorong Nangangailangan (TABANG) provided vital relief assistance to various communities of said province on February 25.
The Project TABANG team together with the Provincial Coordinator Hamka Malabung, along with dedicated staff, conducted extensive outreach programs across various communities, including Andulingan, Sitangkai, Malacca, and Bauno Garung, Panglima Sugala.
The activity, in collaboration with several BARMM ministries and agencies, the local government unit (LGU) of Sitangkai, and MBLT-12, reached the remote island of Andulingan in Sitangkai, Tawi-Tawi, delivering aid to 60 families.
Relief services, including 25 kilograms of rice and food packages, were efficiently transported aboard the BRP 390 of the Philippine Navy from Bongao to Sitangkai.
Councilor Marilyn Joe of the LGU expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Bangsamoro Government for extending assistance to one of Sitangkai’s isolated islands.
Subsequently, on February 27, two barangays in the municipality of Panglima Sugala received 100 sets of relief goods per barangay, each containing 25 kilograms of rice and food packages.
Project TABANG is a flagship program of the Office of the Chief Minister (OCM) on bringing the government’s basic services to communities across the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region.
Mayor Nurbert Sahali of Panglima Sugala conveyed his appreciation, emphasizing the significance of assistance reaching their remote locality.
“The Bangsamoro Government is located in Cotabato City, however, the services they provided and reached us. For that I am very thankful,” Mayor Sahali expressed.
Coordination efforts facilitated by the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management (MDRRM) officers ensured assistance reached residents affected by recent calamities.
Malabung acknowledged the collaborative efforts, stating, “We are indeed thankful for the assistance extended by the LGU in transporting the rice and supplies. I hope that the LGU continues to assist in delivering the programs of the Chief Minister.”
He also outlined the comprehensive services offered by the OCM, through Project TABANG, and reaffirmed his commitment to serving the people of Tawi-Tawi.
This initiative aligns with Chief Minister Ahod Ebrahim’s 7th agenda in his 12-Point Priority Agenda, aimed at enhancing the responsiveness and timeliness of social protection services.
