COTABATO CITY—Nine (9) cooperatives from Basilan received food processing and production equipment worth Php6.3-million from the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) on Aug. 29 to Sept. 1, 2022.
The provision of equipment was part of the ministry’s Technology Transfer and Commercialization Program (TTCP) which aims to assist cooperatives to produce quality products that are safe to consume, nutritious, halal, and marketable.
“Andito ang MOST upang isagawa ang layunin ng ating Chief Minister Ahod Ebrahim na ilapit sa ground, sa mga komunidad ang programa at serbisyo ng Bangsamoro Government upang matulungang i-angat ang inyong kabuhayan,” MOST Director-General Abdulrakman Asim told the beneficiaries.
The following are the availing beneficiaries:
1. Sapah Bulak Women Service Cooperative
2. Tipo-Tipo Farmers Association
3. Balagtasan Community Development Organization
4. Kelluman si Kauman Taberlongan Producers Cooperative
5. Apil-Apil Fishermen Cooperative
6. Ulitan BM Fishermen Cooperative
7. Tairan Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Agricultural Multi-Purpose Cooperative
8.Maluso Bangsamoro Agri-Aqua Farmers and Producers Cooperative
9.Jezreel Coffee Cooperative
MOST expects the cooperatives’ area to boost production, adhere to good manufacturing practices, and be Halal-compliant. (Majid Nur/BIO)
