JOLO, Sulu – In a move to contribute to a more comprehensive and accurate representation of the Bangsamoro heritage, the Bangsamoro Commission for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage (BCPCH) and Mindanao State University-Sulu (MSU-Sulu) have officially solidified a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA).
The ceremonial signing graced by prominent figures from both institutions marks a significant milestone in the intensive effort to integrate Bangsamoro heritage into the mainstream educational landscape, enriching the understanding and appreciation of Bangsamoro history and cultural heritage.
Led by BCPCH Chairperson Salem Y. Lingasa and MSU-Sulu Chancellor Prof. Nagder J. Abdurahman, the formalization of the agreement took place in a noteworthy ceremony held at the esteemed MSU-Sulu Chancellor’s Office.
Chairperson Lingasa commended MSU-Sulu for their unwavering commitment to research excellence and the pivotal role they play in incorporating Bangsamoro history into the educational curriculum.
On the other hand, Chancellor Abdurahman echoed Lingasa’s sentiments, emphasizing the critical importance of institutionalizing the study of Bangsamoro history for both Bangsamoro and non-Bangsamoro communities.
Moreover, BCPCH Sulu Community Affairs Officer II, Nurkadri J. Hamsali, reaffirmed his dedication by reiterating the organization’s steadfast commitment to document and preserve the rich cultural heritage of the Bangsamoro people.
The collaborative partnership between BCPCH and MSU-Sulu represents a significant turning point sharing the profound history of the Bangsamoro community.
