INDANAN, Sulu — The Bangsamoro Women Commission (BWC) distributed here on August 4 livelihood assistance to 30 Tausug women in order to strengthen their entrepreneurial pursuits and economic stability.
Each woman received P20,000 through the Special Development Fund – Kabuhayan ni Kakah Bai (SDF-KKB) project, a pioneering initiative of BWC which focuses on empowering marginalized sectors and promoting entrepreneurship to create sustainable livelihood opportunities and foster economic growth at the grassroots level.
BWC-Sulu Commissioner Nurunnihar B. Mohammad underscored the importance of business management, noting that handling a business requires commitment and focus.
“In pag-usaha, subay niyu tuud ayaran… Ayaw kita niyu masipug mag-usaha, [In business, you shall handle it effectively… Don’t be afraid to find a living],” said Mohammad in his message.
Ainol Jamiol, one of the beneficiaries, expressed gratitude for the assistance which she said will enable her to expand her business and provide a better future for her family.
“In kami ini, in dihil niyu sīn kamu, hipag-usaha tuud namu marayaw… Magpasalamat tuud kami kaniyu katan,” said Jamiol.

Prior to the cash assistance distribution, the beneficiaries signed contracts and received additional materials, including tarpaulins, columnar, and monitoring books, to support their business management.
