Cotabato City (June 11, 2020)—Chief Minister Ahod Balawag Ebrahim, who presided the meeting via online, and being the Chairperson of the Bangsamoro Economic and Development Council (BEDC) led the conduct of the 1st BEDC Regular Meeting for CY 2020, on June 5, 2020, 2:00 PM at the Bajau Hall, Bangsamoro Government Compound, Cotabato City.
This was also made possible through the Bangsamoro Planning and Development Authority who spearheaded the preparation of the Council Meeting which has long been postponed due to the pandemic.
Under the leadership of Engr. Mohajirin T. Ali, BEDC Vice-chair, Head of BEDC Secretariat, and Acting Executive Director of BPDA, the proposed combined physical and online participation was made possible with the approval of the Chief Minister.
“The active involvement of the different government sectors, local government units, private sectors representatives, and the Bangsamoro People all in all contribute to the overall goal of ‘self-governance through moral governance’,” he said.
“Let me extend my warmest gratitude, especially to those who exerted their efforts in making the 1st BEDC 2020 possible. It is indeed one great leap for the Bangsamoro. With BEDC in place, we hope to advance further in socio-economic activities,” he added. ###
