COTABATO CITY— In the Bangsamoro region, one of the 12-point priority agenda of Chief Minister Ahod Ebrahim for 2023-2025 is to provide avenues for the meaningful engagement and participation of the diverse populace of the region and establish appropriate institutions towards a self-sustaining and inclusive development of the women, youth, and other vulnerable sectors.
In line with this plan, a multi-purpose building for women, worth P4.2-million, is currently underway in Brgy. Salaman in Lebak, Sultan Kudarat Province. Furthermore, a farm-to-market road with solar electrification system is also being completed in the area.
“Ang programa natin ngayon ay kasama sa mga programs na pinonduhan ng Bangsamoro Government taon-taon,” said Bangsamoro Women Commission (BWC) Chairperson Bainon Karon during the groundbreaking ceremony of the said building on Aug. 9.
The building and the farm-to-market road are implemented by the Ministry of Public Works (MPW), funded through the Transitional Development Impact Fund (TDIF) of Karon who was a former member of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) Parliament.
Although Sultan Kudarat Province is not among the territories of the Bangsamoro region, Karon said Moro communities outside the BARMM should also benefit from the regional government’s services.
“Kaya nararapat lang na bigyan natin ang constituents natin para maiparamdam sa kanila na kasama parin sila sa kung ano man tinatamasa ng BARMM kahit sila ay nasa labas ng rehiyon,” Karon said.
Brgy. Salaman Chairwoman Joselyn Necor expressed her gratitude for the projects they received from BARMM.
“Malaking benepisyo ito sa amin lalong-lalo na naging maayos ang daanan at magkakaroon narin kami ng multi-purpose building. Nagpapasalamat din kami na binigyan kami ng ganitong proyekto na mula sa BARMM,” said Necor. (Myrna Tepadan/BIO)
