COTABATO CITY—Youth, women, and other sectors are expected to benefit from Bangsamoro Government’s human development center.
On January 26, the Ministry of Human Settlements and Development (MHSD) and the Office of Member of Parliament (MP) Sheikh Ibrahim Ali turned over a two-storey multi-purpose human development center in Brgy. Bagua 2 in this city.
Funded under the Transitional and Development Impact Fund (TDIF) 2021, the center will benefit Da’wah Academy Incorporated (DAI) with a holistic focus on promoting Moral Governance across the Bangsamoro region.
MP Ali underscored that the materialization of the center was a result of the struggles of the Bangsamoro peace process key players.
“This facility came into existence because of the sweat and blood, as well as the sacrifices exerted,” he said.
MHSD Bangsamoro Director-General Esmael Ebrahim said that as of writing, the Ministry has already turned over a total of 14 training centers, to wit: six (6) in Lanao del Sur; two (2) in Sulu; two (2) in Tawi-Tawi; and three (3) outside the Bangsamoro region, respectively, two (2) in Lanao del Norte and one (1) in Davao region.
With these milestones, Bangsamoro Chief Minister Ahod Ebrahim shared that there is a significant decrease of 26% in the region’s poverty incidence and a 56% increase in investment, depicting a relevant improvement for the BARMM.
The Chief Minister urged the beneficiaries of the human development center to efficiently manage the facility for it to become useful.
“Let us show the development of this training center to later show the development of our homeland,” Ebrahim emphasized.
“We need to maximize using this facility because a training center without functions is deemed futile,” he added.
Investing in strategic infrastructure for economic growth is aligned with the fifth priority agenda of CM Ebrahim. (Johamin Inok/BIO)
