COTABATO CITY—The Bangsamoro Government, through the Ministry of Basic, Higher, and Technical Education (MBHTE), continues to provide and build more adequate classrooms and facilities that are ideal for Bangsamoro students’ learning environment.
With a total of 11 schools divisions, the MBHTE guaranteed that each division shall receive school-building projects and other educational services aimed at addressing the needs and aspirations of Bangsamoro’s education community.
Recently, the Education Ministry turned over on Saturday, March 11, a two-storey with ten (10) classroom flagship school building project at Parangbasak National High School, Lamitan City Division. The project is worth Php 22,134,000.00 under the 2020 Special Development Fund (SDF).
MBHTE Deputy Minister Haron Meling noted that the ministry continues to address the shortage of school facilities within the autonomous region’s jurisdiction. “This is the first time that the beautiful island of Basilan received this type of building,” Meling said, hoping that these spaces would help students on the island to flourish and learn better.
On the other hand, another two-storey with four (4) classroom school buildings with land development will soon rise under the 2022 General Appropriations Act of the Bangsamoro (GAAB) at Mohammad Integrated School, Brgy. Biniruan in this city, after the groundbreaking ceremony last March 09.
Education Minister Mohagher Iqbal emphasized that the Bangsamoro government publicizes its programs, projects, and activities not to show-off but to give transparency and serve the Bangsamoro people.
“While working on the infrastructure projects, the Ministry is also exerting rigorous efforts to fast track the hiring processes in the Ministry,” Iqbal said.
Furthermore, the BARMM leadership remains committed to addressing the growing needs in basic education with learning materials and quality education. (Johaira Sahidala/BIO with reports from MBHTE)
