COTABATO CITY — The Office of the Chief Minister’s Project TABANG (Tulong Alay sa Bangsamorong Nangangailangan) has allocated P43.5-million for the provision of 15 units of tractors to farmers’ association in the region.
On Thursday, March 24, Project TABANG initially turned over seven (7) units of the tractors to associations from the municipalities of Sultan Kudarat, Mamasapano, Rajah Buayan, Sultan sa Barongis, Ampatuan, Shariff Aguak in Maguindanao, and Malabang in Lanao del Sur.
According to Project Development Officer III Mohamad Asnur Pendatun, each tractor will be used by five association beneficiaries. The remaining units will be turned over to the other beneficiaries next week.
He said the tractors are part of Project TABANG’s livelihood program dubbed OBRA or the Oplan Bangsamoro Rapid Assistance.
“Itong OBRA ay part of the recovery plan ng TABANG sa Bangsamoro residents, specially (on the) farmers, fisherfolks, and women sectors, to cope up sa kanilang livelihood na natamaan nga ng pandemic,” said Pendatun.
He also shared that last year OBRA distributed palay, corn seeds, fertilizers, herbicides, and pollards to farmers’ cooperatives in the region.
“Ang hinihingi lang namin or favor sa aming beneficiaries ay pagbutihin at alagaan ang lahat ng serbisyo na ibinigay ng OCM Project TABANG,” Pendatun said. (Myrna S. Tepadan/BIO)
