COTABATO CITY–Four more police cars, courtesy of the Bangsamoro Government, joined the patrol fleet of the Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO-BAR) after a successful turnover on March 22.
PRO-BAR PBGen John Guyguyon personally received the police cars. The turnover was made official with the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between the regional government and the police force witnessed by Interior and Local Government Minister Atty. Naguib Sinarimbo and BARMM Senior Minister Abdulraof Macacua.
Said units, worth P3.5 million each, were all funded through the Transitional Development Impact Fund (TDIF) of the Member of the Parliament Atty Raissa Jajurie and implemented by the Ministry of the Interior and Local Government (MILG).
Lawyer Jajurie said in her short message that the regional government recognized the pivotal role of the men in uniform particularly in the maintenance of peace and order in the region.
“We see the logistical support needed by the PNP and all other institutions that do not exist organically in the Bangsamoro [Government], but mahalaga po na matulungan kami, ang Bangsamoro Government that promotes the development agenda of ministries through peace and order,” said Jajurie who is also the minister of the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD).
Jajurie added that the provision of logistic support to the police force “is a way for members of parliament to assist and support the various ministries in the BARMM”.
“I believe that peace and order are the most pressing requirements or conditions for us to move forward, so we are very happy to be a part of it,” she further said.
MILG Deputy Minister Abunawas Maslamama and Interior Affairs Services Director Atty. Marvin Mokamad were also present during the turnover ceremony.
In another ceremony on December 27 last year, eleven (11) police cars were also handed over to PRO-BAR to further strengthen peace and security in the region. (Abdullah Matucan/BIO with reports from MILG)
