DAVAO CITY— The Bangsamoro Government is driven to continuously inculcate ‘moral governance’ values to its workforce to further enhance service delivery and operation in the government across the region.
The regional government stepped up its game with the Development Academy of the Bangsamoro’s (DAB) gathering of a number of future trainers during a four-day mandatory onboarding training in Davao City from April 26-29.
As an integral part of the moral governance advocacy, training participants, mostly equipped with deep understanding of the values enshrined in moral governance including the history and context of the region, affixed their pledge of commitment to show their affirmation and support.
In an exclusive interview, DAB Executive Director Sheikh Hisham Nando shared that their agency has developed a training module designed for onboarding employees with one of the modules focused on moral governance.
“Isa sa bahagi ng ating module ay nakatutok sa moral governance dahil ito ang pinapairal nating adbokasiya sa regional government,” Nando shared.
Moral governance, as defined in Bangsamoro Autonomy Act No. 13 or the Bangsamoro Administrative Code, refers to “the set of rules, practices, and processes completely devoid of all the evils of graft and corruption, and explicitly driven by the moral principles of utmost dedication, devotion, honesty, justice, and integrity”.
While BARMM has its own government policy direction pertaining to employees ethics which anchors on moral governance, Philippines legislation has its existing law which covers code of conducts and ethics in government service through Republic Act 6713 or “Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees”.
