Everyone draws inspiration from individuals who do a great job and are honored for their achievements. Similarly, when you give a recognition award to any workers, it motivates them and inspires all the workers to give their best at work.
Armalyah Macasasa has been recognized as the “Huwarang Manggagawa 2024″ awardee by the Bangsamoro Government, through the Ministry of Labor and Employment (MOLE), during the celebration of Bangsamoro Labor Day on May 1, 2024 at the Bangsamoro Government Center (BGC) in Cotabato City.
Armalyah Ibad Macasasa, a 37-year-old nurse from the said city, has quite the journey. After graduating from Notre Dame University in 2010 with a nursing degree, she passed her Nursing Licensure Exam in 2011.
Her career took her to different places, including Al-Dar Hospital in Saudi Arabia from 2014 to 2016. Later, she joined United Doctors Hospital of Cotabato City, Incorporated (UDHCCI), where she served as a Staff Nurse, then as Head Nurse. Currently, she leads as the Emergency Room Head Nurse.
Armalyah’s dedication didn’t go unnoticed. In 2023, she received the Plaque of Recognition Award from UDHCCI for her exceptional performance and valuable contributions to her team.
What makes Armalyah stand out are her qualities as a nurse. Her colleagues praise her strong work ethic, creativity, and teamwork.
Dr. Rodrigo Agustin, President and Medical Director of UDHCCI, commended her professionalism and leadership, saying she goes above and beyond to ensure patients’ satisfaction.
“Ms. Macasasa demonstrates exceptional dedication and professionalism in her work with a strong work ethic, consistently going above and beyond to ensure the success of our operation and the satisfaction of our patients and watchers,” her hospital supervisor said.
Agustin further attested that Armaylah’s exceptional leadership qualities, coupled with her unwavering willingness to mentor and support her colleagues, render her an invaluable asset to their institution.
Because of this, Nurse Armaylah was endorsed by his superiors in the hospital for the Bangsamoro Labor Day as Huwarang Manggagawa.
“I am proud to endorse Ms. Armalyah Macasasa as a nominee for the prestigious Huwarang Manggagawa Award because she has consistently exemplified the qualities of a model worker, making invaluable contributions to our institution,” Agustin said.
Motivated healthcare provider
When asked what motivates her to excel in her work as a healthcare provider, she said, “As a nurse, I am always motivated to go to work not only because I receive a salary but because I help the sick to save another life.”
“At every end of my work, it’s fulfilling when they say ‘shukran, thank you ma’am’, when I help them. It makes me feel better,” she added.
She acknowledged that criticism cannot be avoided in the work setting and admitted, “I am just a human with shortcomings.”
She reflected on moments of self-doubt, thinking others might be questioning her ability to handle the responsibilities of a head nurse. Despite these challenges, she credited the management for helping her cope and emphasized the importance of teamwork.
“Teamwork is also one of the things that makes our work easier, especially when I feel it is a toxic time,” she noted.
Armalyah’s journey is a testament to her commitment to excellence in nursing, making her a valuable asset to her institution and an inspiration to her colleagues.
Aside from the recogntion, the noble worker also received P15,000 worth of financial grant along a plaque of recognition. As she received her award, she expressed gratitude to her UDHCCI colleagues and the Bangsamoro Government.
“Thank you very much for the award that was given to me. In Shaa Allah, you will have many happy workers in the next Bangsamoro Labor Day celebration,” she said.
Armalyah, a standout worker in the Bangsamoro, doesn’t just do her job well; she also encourages her colleagues to do their best. In her message, she talks about the struggles of the Bangsamoro people and urges them to keep fighting and never give up.
“To my fellow Bangsamoro people… let’s just fight, and never give up,” she stressed.
