COTABATO CITY—Bangsamoro Government has embarked on a series of peacebuilding initiatives throughout the region as part of in commitment to fostering lasting peace.
These activities were part of the annual observance of National Peace Consciousness Month, pursuant to Proclamation No.675 issued by the former Philippine President, Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo in July 2004.
“The journey of embracing peacebuilding represents a remarkable step towards reconciliation and community integration,” said Minister of Public Order and Safety (MPOS) Hussein Muñoz said on Sept. 28.
Among the significant activities conducted during September were the following:
Peacebuilding training for Former Local Insurgents (FLIs) which was held on Sept. 11-13. During the activity, 49 beneficiaries received financial assistance, amounting to P10,000 each as a gesture for their journey towards peace.
Muñoz urged the beneficiaries to “unite for a harmonious future for themselves and future generations.”
