COTABATO CITY—The Bangsamoro Government, through the Ministry of Public Order and Safety (MPOS) and in partnership with MP Muslimin Jakilan, initiated the construction of a peace playground in Sitio Sayugan, Barangay Maligaya, Lamitan City, on July 31, to foster unity and promote a culture of peace.
The playground is designed to offer a safe space for children to engage in physical activity and social interaction, symbolizing peace and unity among various ethnic and religious groups in the area.
MP Muslimin Jakilan highlighted the importance of investing in recreational facilities for the younger generation.
“The Bangsamoro Peace Playground is more than just a recreational facility; it’s a communal space where families can come together, fostering a culture of peace, safety, and healthy living,” Jakilan said.
He further emphasized that the playground will help the youth develop both personally and professionally, while also serving as a gathering place for the community.
The P2.6 million project is expected to have a lasting positive impact on the youth and families of Lamitan City, contributing to a vibrant and united community.
This initiative is part of MPOS’s broader mandate to promote peacebuilding, reconciliation, and unity within the Bangsamoro region. (Majid Nur with reports from MPOS)
