COTABATO CITY—Leveraging digitalization to boost Bangsamoro Government’s legislative processes and service delivery for the constituents was tackled during the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Summit held here on June 3.
The Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) Parliament, through its Management Information System Division (MISD), spearheaded the summit with the theme “Bayang Digital ang Bagong Pilipinas,” aimed to foster discussions on digital transformation, cybersecurity, and data privacy through a series of technical sessions.
“It calls on us to leverage ICT to provide efficient government services, enhance cyber safety, and create limitless opportunities for Filipinos,” said Engr. Mohammad Nizhar Acmad, Chief of MISD.
The event was made possible through a partnership with the Bangsamoro Information and Communications Technology (BICTO), in celebration of National Information and Communications Technology Month, under Proclamation No. 1521, s. 2008.
Acmad noted that the Parliament and the MISD have been leading ICT initiatives to modernize legislative processes and improve service delivery. “Key projects include developing a comprehensive digital legislative information system to streamline our workflow, improve transparency, and increase public accessibility,” he emphasized.
He also mentioned the establishment of fundamental ICT infrastructure, paving the way for future digital initiatives in the Bangsamoro region.
BICTO Executive Director Jonathan Mantikayan urged everyone to harness the power of technology to bridge gaps, foster innovations, and build a stronger, more connected BARMM and Philippines.
The ICT Summit 2024, focused on digital transformation, cybersecurity, and data privacy, aligns with the second priority agenda of Bangsamoro Chief Minister Ahod Ebrahim. (Johamin Inok/BIO)
