COTABATO CITY—Ministry of Interior and Local Government(MILG) inaugurated Thursday, Nov. 25, the newly constructed 2-storey barangay hall building at Brgy. Banubo, Sultan Kudarat in Maguindanao.
The project was funded under Bangsamoro Appropriations Act (BAA) 2020 amounting to Php3,388,333.33, and was built through the FM4 Builders Contractor.
MILG minister Atty. Naguib Sinarimbo led the inauguration of the project and said that 250 barangay halls are underway across BARMM. [Related story: Sinarimbo: MILG projects nearing completion; more infra-projects underway at Sinarimbo: MILG projects nearing completion; more infra-projects underway
Sinarimbo thanked the community of barangay Banubo under the leadership of Brgy. Chairman Mohalidin Abas and said that the interim government is pushing for more projects dedicated to the Bangsamoro people.
“This hopefully will not only transform the landscape of our region but that of service delivery to our people,” Sinarimbo said.
“The barangay halls are intended to serve as the center of government service delivery in the lowest but most critical locus of interaction between the people and its government,” the Minister added.
In his message of acceptance, Abas said they felt overwhelmed, especially, their barangay hall is the pioneering project first completed by the ministry and described it as “historic”.
“It is a testament that everything that has been agreed through good governance could benefit majority of our people,” Abas said.
Together with Minister Sinarimbo, Municipal Councilor Mohamad Casim, MILG Director for Interior Services Atty. Marvin Mokamad, Ustzad Villal Kanda, and elementary school teachers graced the said event. (Bangsamoro Information Office)
