COTABATO CITY – Officer-in-Charge Minister of the Ministry of Health (MOH) Dr. Zul Qarneyn Abas announced in a press conference on Tuesday, July 19, that the ministry is set to build ten barangay health stations (BHS) in this city.
Amounting to Php2.5-million each, the BHS will be constructed at Barangays Kalanganan I and II; Bucana Mother Kalanganan, Rosary Heights III, V, and VIII; Poblacion III, VI, and IX; and Bagua III.
Each of the barangays will also receive Php500,000.00 worth of health facility equipment, while the City Health Office will receive Php3-million worth of equipment.
The equipment will include autoclave, bed plain with mattress, blood pressure apparatus, cervical inspection set, cord dressing set, dressing cart, otoscope, emergency light, examining light, examining table with stirrup, instrument cabinet, instrument table, instrument tray with cover 18/8 stainless steel, IV stand, medicine cabinet, minor surgical set/cut down set, nebulizer, oxygen tank 50L, oxygen therapy set, peak flow meter, resuscitator manual for adult and pediatric, revolving stool, stethoscope adult, weighing scale with height measuring stick for adult, and wheelchair.
These are all part of MOH’s effort in enhancing the health services in Cotabato City, through its Tiyakap Bangsamoro Kalusugan Program (TBKP) and Health Facility Enhancement Program (HFEP).
“Magkakaroon kami ng meeting with the City Health Office para i-introduce ang lahat ng programa ng MOH,” said Abas.
“Alhamdulillah, ito na po ang signal na maayos na In sha Allah yung ating coordination with the city (government),” he added. (Myrna Tepadan/BIO)
