MAGUINDANAO DEL SUR – The Ministry of Health (MOH) has announced its commitment to cover all medical expenses of flood victims in the provinces of Maguindanao del Sur, Maguindanao del Norte, and Lanao del Sur.
This initiative falls under the ministry’s Medical Assistance to Indigent and Financially Incapacitated Patients Program (MAIFIPP), specifically aimed at supporting Bangsamoro communities during times of crisis.
MOH said all admitted patients from the affected areas of LDS, MagNorte, and MagSur can avail comprehensive hospital fee coverage (excluding doctors’ fees) at any accredited hospitals.
This assistance also extends to residents of Pagalungan, Datu Montawal, and the Special Geographic Area (SGA) admitted to any accredited hospital within the Cotabato-Midsayap-Kabacan area.
Just two days ago, the MOH signed a memorandum of agreement for the allotment of P5.5-million to four of its partner hospitals under the MAIFIPP.
Cotabato Sanitarium General Hospital received P1 million, AppleOne Brokenshire Medical Cooperation received P2 million, Midsayap Doctors Specialist Hospital received P1 million, and Camp Siongco Station Hospital received P1.5 million. These hospitals, despite not being directly under BARMM government supervision, play a crucial role in providing essential healthcare services to Bangsamoro constituents.
