MARAWI CITY – Residents of barangays Amito Marantao, Bacolod Chico, and East Basak in Marawi City now have easy access to basic health services and maternity amenities following the inauguration of their respective Barangay Health Stations (BHS) on Monday, Sept. 27.
Each worth Php2.5-million, the facilities were part of the Marawi Recovery, Rehabilitation, and Reconstruction Program funded by the national Department of Health and implemented by Bangsamoro Government’s Ministry of Health.
MOH also equipped the facilities with mechanical beds, oxygen tank and therapy set, 10 KVA generator set, and other medical apparatus worth Php800,000.00 to ensure that the BHS will be instantly operational.
Health Minister Dr. Bashary Latiph formally turned over Monday the three BHS to Marawi City Health Officer Dr. Ali Dalidig and to the respective barangay chairpersons.
“We in the Ministry of Health have been trying our best to address the needs of our constituents in terms of health care and medical services. That’s why we keep on delivering basic health care services like this Barangay Health Station,” said Latiph.
Dr. Ali Dalidig thanked the Bangsamoro Government and encouraged the constituents to make use of the health stations.
“You will no longer need to endure the long queues in our City Health Office to avail of health and medical services since we have brought them to you. Our health workers will be here in this Barangay Health Station to serve you,” said Dalidig in his native language. (Bangsamoro Information Office)
