MARAWI CITY – Amai Pakpak Medical Center (APMC) in this city received two (2) mechanical ventilators, three (3) high flow oxygen machine, personal protective equipment, and various Covid-19 medical supplies from the Ministry of Health (MOH).
Health Minister Dr. Bashary A. Latiph on Friday, May 21, turned over the supplies to APMC Hospital Chief Dra. Shalimar Sani-Rakiin.
Sani-Rakiin expressed her gratitude to MOH and the Bangsamoro Government for its life saving support to APMC in its continuing battle with Covid-19.
“Nagsulat po ako kay Minister na baka pwedeng dagdagan niya yung present na mga equipment namin kasi kung mag increase pa yung number of cases sa aming Covid-19 ICU (na kulang kami ngayon) ay pwedeng ikamatay ng pasyente ang kakulangan ng gamit,” said Sani-Rakiin.
“Napakalaking bagay po ito sa aming hospital. Itong dalawang mechanical ventilators, tatlong high flow oxygen machine, at iba pa are life saving equipment that we urgently need,” she added.
Meanwhile, Minister Latiph committed to employ more nurses to APMC to address its workforce shortage on its Covid-19 facilities.
“Since meron tayong Public Health Associates, yun yung i-augment natin gradually. We’ll have a batch of 10 by next week and gradually dagdagan natin dahil kailangan din nila ito sa dami ng Covid-19 patients na naka-admit sa kanila,” he said.
As of May 22, the Bangsamoro Inter Agency Task Force (BIATF) has reported 55 Covid-19 patients currently admitted and 129 isolated patients in Lanao del Sur and Marawi City. (Bangsamoro Information Office)
