COTABATO CITY – Minister Dr. Bashary Latiph of the Ministry of Health (MOH) is urging the Bangsamoro people to join the national government’s three-day massive Covid-19 vaccination drive dubbed “Bayanihan, Bakunahan” on November 29 until December 1.
“When it comes to supply, meron po tayong enough supply ng vaccine para sa ating mga kababayan,” said Latiph in a press conference on Monday.
“Kaya ini-engganyo natin ang ating mga kababayan na magpabakuna po kayo dahil ito po ay para sa inyo at para sa inyong pamilya na rin,” he added.
The Bayanihan, Bakunahan or the ‘National COVID-19 Vaccination Days’ program aims to intensify the country’s immunization rate against the Covid-19, devoting three-days solely for simultaneous vaccination activities nationwide.
Targeted to be inoculated are 15 million Filipinos across the country, around 1 million of whom will be from the Bangsamoro region.
Minister Atty. Raissa Jajurie of the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) said her ministry will support the vaccination drive through provision of relief aid to indigents who will get their jabs during the 3-day campaign.
“Ang MSSD ay sumusuporta sa kampanyang ito, at kasama na ang Bangsamoro Government… It’s an inter-agency whole of government strategy para po maabot nga natin yung ating herd immunity,” said Jajurie who was also present during the press con.
“Makakatanggap po ng ayuda ang mga mahihirap na senior citizens, ang mga may sakit at may kapansanan, at iba pang mahihirap na magpapabakuna sa mga piling kumonidad,” she further said.
As of November 21, the MOH has already administered first dose of Covid-19 vaccine to 311,578 individuals while 314,877 are already fully vaccinated.
Latest data also shows that there are only 193 active cases in the region, with 14,496 recoveries and 15,306 total confirmed cases. (Bangsamoro Information Office)
