COTABATO CITY—Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) strengthens science and technology research development thru the conduct of Inter-Ministry Consultation and Workshop for Science and Technology Framework on Thursday, October 22.
Minister Engr. Aida Silongan said the activity aims to collect and gather data to formulate science and technology framework and research development framework for the Bangsamoro Government.
The Member of Parliament further said the ministry is setting direction in science and technology initiatives and adopting a participatory approach towards harnessing science and technology.
“We are strengthening our efforts to talk about science and technology despite the limitations and restrictions brought by the Covid-19 pandemic.” Silongan said.
“Let us work hand in hand, develop a sustainable work system and mechanisms, and translate those plans into work and tasks,” she added.
According to Article 9, section 21 of the Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL), the BARMM ensures full and effective participation of all sectors in the planning, programming, coordination, and implementation of scientific and technological researches.
MOST executive assistant Suharto Abas stressed the relevance of Science and Technology in helping the society to improve the economy into a developed one, especially in the Bangsamoro region.
Present during the activity were representatives of Ministries of Health (MOH), Basic, Higher, and Technical Education (MBHTE), Agriculture Fisheries Agrarian Reform (MAFAR), Public Works (MPW), Public Order and Safety (MPOS), Trade, Investments, and Tourism (MTIT), Office of the Chief Minister (OCM), and Development Academy of the Bangsamoro (DAB).
MOST-BARMM is also planning to conduct a similar activity to further enhance each ministries and offices’ research. (Bureau of Public Information)
