COTABATO CITY — Twenty-five (25) members of Carmen Social Welfare Committee (SWC) and Overseas Filipinos Workers (OFW) Family Association are currently undergoing a 3-day Values Transformation Training for ‘moral governance’ at Barangay Manarapan, in Carmen, North Cotabato.
The activity, which will run until Oct. 28, is part of the Ministry of Science and Technology’s (MOST-BARMM) efforts in supporting people’s organizations in the region.
MOST Minister Engr. Aida Silongan said that through the activity the participants will be able to enhance their skills on the products they are working on.
“Ipagpatuloy ninyo ang trabahong inyong nasimulan dahil naniniwala akong malayo pa ang mararating ng inyong mga produkto, hindi lang sa local market kundi pati na rin sa international, In shaa Allah,” Silongan said.
Some of the products the participants produce are Moro/Muslim delicacies such as banana chips, tipas, kumukunsi, tinagtag, and rice cake (puto), among others.
MOST-BARMM will also provide dedicated areas for the beneficiaries to help them increase their production.
“Magpapatayo ng production area para mas mapabilis ang paggawa ninyo ng mga produkto at makagawa pa kayo ng marami at dekalidad na produkto,” Silongan said.
Farida Aplal, president of Carmen OFW Family Association, thanked the MOST-BARMM’s initiative in supporting their association.
“Nagsimula po ang association namin sa P500.00 na capital, hanggang sa nag improve na po. Meron na po kaming sari-sari store na pwede namin pag displayhan ng mga produkto namin, dahil lang sa paggawa ng delicacies.” she shared, adding that the training will be very beneficial to them.
A similar activity will also be conducted in Paglat, Maguindanao on Oct. 27 and in Barangay Nasapian, Carmen, North Cotabato on November 2-3,2020. (Bureau of Public Information)
